About:Yunnan Travel

i am planning to climb a peak in yunnan in the end of december, which ones can i climb without booking a whole tour.

rather do it alone with my friend. i assume i should take enough warm clothes like climbing jackets ect. but do i also need some extra accessories to make the climbing possible.

If you are interested in thrilling climbing and challenges, I recommend Shan Zi Dou Peak, which belongs to Jade Dragon SNow Mountain ridge and around 15km from Lijiang city. Apart from clothes, take enough calories, safety belt, snow goggles, crampon and GPS. It is dangerous and never conquer it alone!

gina, thank you for your quick reaction.
We decided to climb up the Haba Snow Mountain and now we are wondering if we are climbing the summit from the base camp do we need sleeping bags or is it warm enough. It saves a lot of space and weight. Second do we need to book the base camp in advance and is that even possible. Third, is there any supply of food or drinks at the base camp?

Haba is pretty nice for climbing. The camp can hold about 40 to 50 people in total and the quilts and bed sheets are prepared for the climber, so they do not need to take the sleeper bags.
In my opinion, the sleep bags needs to be taken. You can put their quilts and sheets on the wooden beds and the put your sleep bags and sleep in your bags, so that it will be comfortable. I just have the habits to sleep in my bags. :)
The beds are not necessary to take if you do not go there during Chinese holidays.
The food and drinks are sufficient, so please do not worry about this problem.
