About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a visa for the following?

Hi
I am going on a cruise in January 2014. I will be staying the cruise ship, but naturally make excursions. First visit is Shanghai, where the ship stops for 40 hours

Second stop is Hong Kong where the ship stops for 62 hours.

You need to apply for either a tourist L or a transit G type in advance. A single entry is enough because you do not need one to enter HK. Cruise ticket is required for application.
