Work and Travel Visa China. Criminal Record Check.

Hi,

I know that this question have been asked alot. I have searched the whole internet about this and i dont get any smarter.

Im a 22 y/o guy with a Swedish citizenship.
I'm currently working in Norway as an engineer at one of the largest oilcompanies in the world.
I have been asked to take a job as an Service Engineer. To take this job means alot of traveling and working in Asia. Can possibly be staying in China for a maximum of 3 months.

I do really want to take this job. But there maybe is a hook for me. -
Back in Sweden i have a criminal record that contains 2 minor crimes. One for theft to a value of 3 dollars. And one for having smoked pot.
Now, I'm wondering if there is any chance for me to take this job.

What type will my company apply to for me? Do they check my criminal background during the application process?
The company that I work for does not seem to care about my criminal background. And as I said, I'm employed by a company in Norway and I'm not going to be employed by any chinese company, so there wont be anyone asking for my criminal record more than the government in China maybe?

Hi, if you need to stay in China for 3 months, you have to provide an invitation letter from a business partner for application. Don't worry, because you just need to apply for a business type that criminal record is not required.

Wouldn't the company who are hiring you inform you about this stuff? They should know this.

Here in the UK, we would probably have to run CRB checks.
China is strict on it's criminal policies.
