cold weather in beijing, how to live?

Question

I have not been to country in winter and can't image how cold is below 0 degree. However, I heard BJ is very cold (due to the very strong wind- Is that so?) than other cities in China.  Pls advise me the proper attire to wear from head to toe. I will be visiting BJ from 10-18 December to experience snowing and I hope to enjoy my trip there without much suffering from the cold weather.

The down jacket and thick sweaters are necessary and you can prepare a pair of snow boots when you are outside. If you cannot bear the fog, it is suggested to get a mask during your traveling. It will be a little bit dry there, so it is suggested to drink more water.
