About:Dress Code in China

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR DURING MY BUSINESS MEETING IN SHANGHAI IN DECEMBER?

As it will be a little cold in Dec. of Shanghai, with the lowest temp of around 0C and highest of 16C, you may need to prepare thermal clothes. Long John, overcoat and thick trousers are needed. In case of windy days, hat and mask may also be necessary.

Actually, I wanted very specific suggestion like
a) If I should wear a suit for business meeting ?
b) In the evening while roaming around in the city, if I should wear a blue denim jeans & a jacket on T-shirt? Is woolen cap covering the ears necessary?
d) Whether a blue denim jeans & a blazer is O.K. for a business meeting? (according to culture over there)

1. For males, it is suggested to wear suit and for females, it shall be fine to put on formal wears.
2. It is ok to wear jeans and jacket on T-shirt, but it is not necessary to wear woolen cap covering ears. If you wanna, a regular hat shall be fine.
3. Jeans are too casual for a meeting, especially business meeting or very formal ones, so you's better avoid that.

Susan, One more help. I wish to give a small gift to my to-be business friend from china.
What would be the ideal gift that i can get for him from India?
He may take me to his home also. In that case what should I gift to his family (mother, wife. son & daughter)
