Entrance in Macau

My wife and me are arriving to Hong Kong in the beginning of February to make a 3 days visit. We would like to go to Macau for a day trip but as soon as we arrive to Hong Kong we must leave the Passport to get the visa to re-entry in main China again. Is it enough a copy of the Passport to entry in Macau? She is from Paraguay what makes more complex the situation... How to do it?

I am afraid that a copy is not enough. Perhaps, you might adjust your schedule, visiting mainland China first and then go to Macau from Zhuhai.

Anyway, a copy of passport is not acceptable for entry into Macao.
