Philippine passport holder stopping over at Shanghai Pudong Airport

My son and I are going back to the Phils on December from Canada with a 7 hr stop over at Shanghai Pudong Airport. No plans to go out of the airport, just wait for our flight going to our country. Do we need to apply for a china visa or permit to stay in the airport?

Don't worry, nothing is required if you will not leave the airport during stopover.
