About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying San Francisco→Shanghai→Kunming→Singapore. Okay to use 72 hour visa free entry in Shanghai?

I'm flying San Francisco → Shanghai → Kunming → Singapore (final destination). Can I use the 72 hour free entry in Shanghai, or does my immediate subsequent destination (Kunming) have to be outside of China?

This itinerary does not apply to 72 hour free transit. You are right that the Hong Kong will be ok instead of a stopover in Kunming.

Thanks for the quick response! Could you clarify why it does not apply, and what Hong Kong has to do with this? I don't think I mentioned HK...

If this is helpful information, the Shanghai and Kunming stops are just layovers for my trip from SFO to the final destination of Singapore. Thanks again!

Sorry, I mean you can not avail 72 hour free transit permit if you have stopovers via two cities in mainland China.
