Are z visas still available at the HK Chinese embassy?

Hello, I currently live in Beijing and have F (expires 2013/12/19). I also have the temporary residence form which expires on the same date. I have been offered a teaching post which requires a z, but the university office told me I would have to go back to my country (UK) to apply for the new Z. Is this true, or is it still possible to go through the process via Hong Kong? Thanks in anticipation !

Hi, as I know, it is still possible for you to get a work Z in HK. You can also contact some agencies for the latest information.
