Date matching and validity of visa

Hi, I'm going to receive an invitation letter from my friend in china. Is that a must that the travelling date perfectly matched with the travelling date on the invitation invitation letter? moreover, what matters about the type and validity?

No, the date mentioned in the invitation letter is only a reference for consular officers to issue visa. For tourist L, generally it will be issued with 3 months validity abd 30 days as duration of stay. You can enter any date within its validity.
