Difficulty/advice

Hello!

My husband and I would like to reach the South Peak of Mt.Hua in a one day trip. I've read that the easiest/quickest way is to take the West cable car. However, I wasn't able to find any information on how to get to the west cable car. We unfortunately dont speak any Mandarin, and I am a bit nervous of how we will get to Mt.Hua from Xi'an and to the west cable car so any advice would definitely be appreciated!

As of now, my plan is to take a taxi to Mt.Hua but I'm not sure how I would tell them that I need to be taken to the west cable car?

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows the difficulty level of the climb from west peak to south peak? My husband is an avid mountain climber, but I however am out of shape so I'm a bit afraid that I won't make it!

Thanks in advance for your help!

It is not economical to take taxi from Xian to Mt. Hua, you may take Tourism Bus Line 1 at Xian Railway Station and the earliest one departs from Xian at 08:00 in the morning. The ticket fee is CNY22 and journey takes around 3 hours. Besides, you will find many private special lines to Mt. Huashan there. The bus no.1 only takes you to the tourism center, where you will need to take a car to the foot of the mountain. There are signs in English and one ticket hall, so it is very easy for you to find it. Then walk for 15 minutes after the car ride, you will get to the west cable car. It takes about 40 minutes to hike from west peak to south peak.
