they said at gate 7-11 are best gate to shopping at terminal 1. can I find them at terminal 2 HKIA?

Are the branded goods cheaper at airport?

Yes, the branded goods in the duty free shops at HKIA are much cheaper. Besides T1, there are many stores at T2 for the branded goods. For details, you can search it out at the official website of HKIA.
