canadian / laotian with layover in pek.

Question

I am Canadian and will be going BKK to PEK to YHZ, layover of 12 hrs in PEK. Want to see the wall, what will I need to do to leave the airport and see this amazing site? Also, my bf is from Laos and will be traveling with me. He has his Canadian tourist type one already and will be leaving BKK on the same flights as myself. What does he require for the same thing? Hi, you just need to apply for the 72 hours free transit at the windows when you arrive. For your BF, he has to acquire the stay permit at the airport if he wants to visit the wall together with you. Well, I was told before that some national might fail to acquire the stay permit. So your BF might apply for a transit type in advance and then you both won't be worried about the Great Wall trip.
