One-day itinerary in Macau

I will be going to M from HK via ferry, and I will spend just one day in in that city. I would like to visit Ruins of St Paul, Senado Square, Macau Tower, Venetian Casino/Hotel, eat egg tarts (Lord Stow's Bakery and Margaret's Cafe), pork buns and serradura, and buy almond cookies from Kok Kei. Can you please recommend how I can go about doing this, i.e. the travelling method (what bus I should take, or if I should take taxi) from one place to the other. Appreciate your response! Thanks!

All the places you want to go are in different places.
The Ruins of St. Paul and the Senado are close to each other, which are along the Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro. So you can walk along along the road to visit these two places. After finishing these two places, you can walk to reach the Grand Lisboa along the Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro. Then you can ask the local people to find the Margaret's Cafe.
Then you can go back to the Grand Lisboa and then you can see the Sintra. Thereyou can take the free shuttle bus of Venetian, so you can take the bus to reach there. From Venetain you can find the free shuttle bus to reach the M Tower and the Taipa center area. At Taipa center area, you can find the Rua do Cunha where you may find the pork buns.
For other places, I am sorry that I am not very clear about it, so I may not be able to tell you the directions.

Hello Michell, Sandy's input is very good! Will only add that you can find a Lord Stow's Bakery in the Shoppes at Canal in the Venetian so you can try there after you have sampled Margaret's. Here is a suggestion for a highlight version day trip to Macau.

Morning tarts at Margaret's (9.30am)

Senado Square attractions (10-11am)
a.) Leal Senado Building
b.) St. Dominic's Church
c.) Lou Kau Mansion

Ruins of St. Paul area (11-12.30pm)
a.) Ruins of St. Paul
b.) Mount Fortress (Macau Museum housed inside)

A-Ma Temple (12.45-1.15pm)

Lunch at A Lorcha (1.30-2.45pm)

Shoppes at Venetian Canal (3.00-4.30pm)

House of Dancing Water show - reservations required (5.00-6.30pm)

Ferry from Macau to Hong Kong (7.15pm)

*(alternative - evening plan)

Dinner in Taipa Village (7-8.45pm) followed by

Ferry from Macau to Hong Kong (9.30pm)

Tip: Ferry service is now available 24 hours a day between the Hong Kong - Macau Ferry terminal in Sheung Wan (HK Island) and the Outer Harbour ferry terminal (Macau Peninsula). However, visitors can also use the Hong Kong - China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui (Kowloon, HK) and the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal (Taipa, Macau).

Tip: Plan on 3.5-4.5 hours of total transportation time from the time which will include making your way to the ferry terminals, clearing immigration and the actual ferry sailings which are approximately 50 minutes each way.

Tip: Each of the attractions recommended above have been reviewed in our Macau Top Attractions trip list here on Tripadvisor. You can find individual attraction reviews and pictures for each there. See link here on Tripadvisor.

Have a nice time in Macau
