Wuhan in December

I will be heading to the city for a winter exchange program from 8-28 December. What would be most appropriate to wear? Is a down jacket really necessary?

Generally, it will be cold, with the temperature range of -2C to 6C. If you are from hot place like Malaysia, you may need a down jacket. If you can handle the coldness, it is fine to take along Long John, thick sweater, overcoat and thick pants.
