Weather late in December in Zhangye

I am contemplating visiting the Danxia Landform late in December. Should I expect it to be very cold at that time? Would spring be better?

Yes, it will be very cold and the lowest temperature may fall to -20C in Dec. It is suggested to change your plan to around April. in spring.
