Urgently need advice

Hi,

I am moving to Shanghai next week on a Z-Visa which I will convert to temporary residence permit, as I have just signed a contract for 3 years employment with my company in Shanghai.

My partner (together for 8 years but not married) will be coming over with me, but not until December.

I have been advised by my company that they do not provide invitation letters for dependants, and where we live (South Australia) we can not obtain a co-habitation certificate.

Could you please help us to find a way for my partner to enter China for her to secure a residence permit? Also, without a marriage or co-habitation certificate, will we have any problems getting her a residence permit?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi, if you can not provide marriage certificte or co-habitation certificate, she can have a try to apply for a private visit S2 type with multiple entries if possible. It is a bit hard to get her a residence permit anyway. You can also contact some agencies for help with more information.

I assume if a co-habitation certificate is not being issued in Australia at all, the Chinese embassy there should be aware of that. Since a long-term visa/Residence permit can be issued for a legal partner, then they probably have some other way for the Australian residents to prove their relationship.
In case there is no alternative for that and you can't provide any kind of documents clarifying your relationship, it's very unlikely that you can get a residence permit or a long-term multi entry for her!
