About:China Family Reunion Visa

Tourist Visa conversion after Marriage

Hello ,
I plan to marry with my girlfriend next month in China , can i change/extend my one month tourist L to a Marriage type (which is 6 month i think) without leaving?

but if you marry in PRC then you can get the Q2 first time take sometime to get 2 years one

Hi, it is ok for you to enter with a tourist L ,but as I know, the conversion between types is not allowed within mainland, you need to apply in HK instead for a family reunion Q if your girlfriend is a Chinese.

Hi Burak well to do this if your in Shanghai you must go to the bureau in shanghai before hand need to fill a simple application form you need to take your marriage certificate a letter from your wife saying a reason for extention and if you are married in PRC you can get 1 year visa. I am living in shanghai after married for more than 3 years now so I got Q2 type after two times i received Q2 I will get 2 years one which is shanghai temporary residence type.

More over I suggest you to go with ur wife to the bureau where ever you are stay .
