About:Chinese Names

What importance do Chinese have in calling people Dad?

We have an Chinese International Student living with us and she calls 3 different men Dad (including my husband). He is fine with her doing this, but upset that she calls others Dad. He feels that she doesn't know the importance and meaning of calling someone Dad. He's really crushed about her doing this because he has welcomed her into our home as our daughter. I'm stuck in the middle, please help!

It is strange.
As I know, we Chinese people do not use it for calling any other people. We only call our father "Dad".
So I think it is strange and I think you may try to communicate with her and get to know more about her.
