Check in time limit at Shanghai Pudong airport

Hi,
I will fly out with a low cost carrier called Spring Airlines from Pudong. The flight leaves at 8.40am and their recommendation is do be done with the check-in procedure 2 hours before. Now, it seem difficult to get to the airport from there I stay in the morning. I've seen reports where people taking the same flight take the first MAGREV traing, leaving 6.45am, meaning being at the airport at around 7am.

I would never be at the airport 2 hours before in Europe(even if officially recommend). However, this is a unknown airport to me and it's also a low cost carrier.
Do any of you have any experience in similar situation? A more realistic suitable arrival time? Can I make checkin-immigration-security etc if I leave with the first MAGREV?
Thanks!

It is better to reach the airport about 2 hours before the departure time and you can choose to take a taxi to reach the airport in time. Besides, you are the first time to be at that airport, so two hours are much better.
If it is really hard for you, you may reach there at least one hour before, otherwise, it is hard for you to check in.
You cannot check in at the maglev station, but only to make it in the airport.
