About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Chinese Visiting Visa

Hi, I am Thai living in Tokyo. My Japanese residence card was expired since 12 Oct. But because I submitted a new application to the immigration office (Mine is automatically extended for 2 months till December) and it is being under inspection till the end of October, is it possible to apply for Chinese tourist type before receiving a new Japanese one because I am planning to visit PRC within next week when a new one is not issued yet. Thank you.

Do you have your passport in your hands? If so, you can ask the appointed travel agency to handle your application for Chinese visa.

Thanks Owen. Yes, I will use the agency . My concern is that my Japanese residence card which is one of required documents expired and is currently being under inspection for a new issuance for living in Japan. Due to the inspection, I am allowed to stay in Japan 2 months longer although an expiry date written on the card was reached. I plan to apply a Chinese one before getting a new Japan one. I am not sure whether a consular officer will reject my application.

If so, you might have trouble in your application. As the embassy says, valid visa record for Japan is needed when you submit your application. Yours is expired though you say that you can stay in Japan for two months with your expired one. I am not sure if Chinese embassy admits that.
