Rooster boyfriend, while im rat

Hii all ~_~ im a chinese girl, and have been dating a boy for almost 3years.. And my mom just told me to break up, because my bf is a rooster... She said its not compatible...if i really stay with him..can we have happiness/luck/work etc in the future? >.<
