I am currently working in China with a z visa. My boyfriend is planning to visit me anytimenext year. What type should i get him? Can i get him an s2?

Hi, S2 type is ok, but he needs to apply by himself from Chinese embassy/consulate. You can send him an invitation letter and copies of your passport and residence permit for application.
