24 Month multiple entry visa

Hi, does anyone know if the two year multiple entry is one that U.S. citizens can apply for and obtain? I typically get the 1 year multiple entry tourist L, and I have never applied for this one before. Please let me know if this is an option worth considering!! If it helps at all I am a student studying in the U.S. though my permanent residence is in China. Thanks

So, you are an US citizen but with Chinese origin? if yes, you are eligible to apply for a two year multiple entry one. Photocopy of previous Chinese passports and previous Chinese visas on your US passport are helpful.

I was born in the states, so I never had chinese citizenship, though I am of chinese descent. If i provide past chinese visas, will they still consider giving me the 24 month visa? Thanks for responding!

Also, if I apply for the 24 month and don't get it, will they just give me a regular 12 month one instead?

Yes, don't worry. You will be issued with 12 month multiple one as before if being refused the 24 month one.
