About:Zhujiajiao Water Town

Watertowns of Shanghai

Hi there.

I am interested in visiting a watertown whilst in Shanghai and was wondering what the difference is between Zhujiajiao and Zhouzhuang ? Sorry if I'm being a bit dense but i just thought they were the same place with different spellings ( as a few places are in China ). I have a full day spare in Shanghai - so would one be better , closer and easier to do than the other?

Thanks for your time

Jeff

These are two different places. Zhouzhuang belongs to Jiangsu Province, while the ZJJ belongs to Shanghai. But the scenery are similar.
If you just have one day near SH, it is suggested to visit ZJJ. You can go there early one day and then go back early to the city downtown area and then visit other places in SH.

Hi Thomas - thanks for your helpful info. You have explained very well the differences and made my decision easy.

Once again in your opinion - how long would you recommend at ZJJ ?

Thanks again for your time

Regards - Jeff

If you have enough time, it is suggested to spend one day there. If time is limited, at least you will spend about half a day there.
