About:China Transit Visa

Does my wife (indian passport) need visa -in transit (hotel Stay) for less than 24 hrs in sanghai

Hi,
Does my wife (indian passport & canadian Permanent resident ) need a visa while in transit (night hotel Stay) for less than 24 hrs in sanghai while travelling to Delhi.
If yes..does she get it in Shanghai Airport or apply in Vancouver?
Muself, my son and my daughter all Canadian citizens need to stay in Shanghai/ Peking too. We do not need a visa and what is the process if we do?

Visa is not requird for all of you if the stopover is less than 24 hours. A stay permit obtained on arrival at the airport can be used to go out for a hotel.
