How to get the visa for china?

Hello, i am an international student in Australia. Luckily i have found my soul mate from china and we got married this August. Unfortunately my wife's parents couldn't attend our wedding due to their packed schedule of Business purpose. So,my wife decided to visit her parents during the upcoming semester break. She wants me to go with her to visit her parents. As i am from different country so i guess even though my wife is a Chinese Nationality by born , i need a visa to go to china, isn't it? So, in that how will i process my Application for applying your country's visa and how long the procedure will take.
