how to go about a passport expiring two months before the completion of my studies in china

i am currently studying after being granted a chinese visa. unfortunately my passport expires some two months before end of course. do i need to apply for a new passport or something can be done on my old passport since i am already in china?

I think you'd better apply for a new one from your embassy in PRC because your current one will expire before the end of your course. I am afraid that you might have trouble if you leave PRC with an expired passport.

You could try renewing your passport from your embassy within PRC but its technically recommended you go back to your home country for issuance of a new passport with a longer expiry date
