Denied VISA in HK due to overstay in mainland. Will a new passport & application work in Macau?

What I mean with this is, to get a new passport from the US Embassy in Hong Kong. Take a trip to Macau. Apply for a new one with the new passport while in Macau. Possible? Or, does Hong Kong consulate & Macau consulate share information on rejected applicants? What to do?

I am afraid not. Because the authorities tighten things up after the new regulations from September 1st, so most probably the consular missions share informations on rejected applications. You may try to apply through an agency entrusted or try to apply in USA if necessary.

Thanks. Are you sure? I really need to be 100% sure on this before going through all the trouble. A new passport has a new number and blank pages. If I use an agent, how can they reject a simple tourist L type? I find it a little surprising that the consulates would share information so efficiently. Do they share a database? Does Macau & Hong Kong use the same issue agents? How about other countries near China? Korea, etc. Thanks!

I am not 100% sure about this. I just provide a method that you can try. No one knows how the consulates deal with the applications.

A reputable agent in Hong Kong told me that this is a method that will usually work. Since the Hong Kong consulate does not share rejection of information with the Macau office. Especially within a week. I think it should work out but another problem is that the consulate & border agents will be very curious to see a new passport with no stamps on the pages. Thanks again.
