About:China Visa Application Requirements

Invitation letter friend

Hi, The embassy wouldt let me apply for chinese visa, because i already have 2 older chinese ones from past trips in my passport. They said its a new rule or something. Anybody heard of that?

They told me I need an invitation letter from somebody there. Can I just ask a friend (non chinese) who lives there for the letter? And do I also still have to provide hotelbookings or can I just say i stay three weeks at his place? Other tips for the letter also welcome. thanks

May I know what types you were issued before? I don't think invitation letter is required because of that. Maybe the consular officers noticed that you previously visitied for business purpose with invitation?

It were just normal tourist visas without invitation letters. My last visa was from february this year and the one before that was from august 2012. I don't know what the rules are in this case. Its just weird. So I'm working on an invitation from a friend of mine in China, so lets hope that works.

One more question. When I have the invitation letter, can I still mark the tourist box on the form and also some of the places I want to visit? or do i just fill in I will stay at his place the entire three weeks?

As I know, invitation letter is not required for tourist L application if you can provide round-trip ticket and hotel bookings. If you get an invitation letter from your friend, you can mark the tourist box on the form and also places of visit.
