running late for g train shanghai beijing

Question

I would like to book 2 ticket from Shanghai to Beijing at 2 pm.  We are arriving by flight to Pudong Airport at 8 am.  If we are running late from the airport and miss it, can we get the ticket office to change our ticket for a later time or do we have to buy a new ticket?Also would I get a ticket then on the same day as booking?

you can only buy a new ticket if you are late. actually, you don't need to be worried, as you have sufficient time to get to the railway station. All the G trains to Beijing depart from Hongqiao Railway Station, which can be reached by subway line 2 and airport shuttle bus line 1 from Pudong airport, taking at most 2 hours on the way. you'd better book the ticket in advance. as ticket are available 20 days in advance, and ticket of some hot lines will be sold out in the first few days. to make sure you have a smooth trip, you'd better make an early reservation. if you book online (this site provide only booking service), you can collect your ticket at the railway station with your passport.
