About:Chinese Holidays

When is Chinese New Year celebrated in 2014? This is usually 2-3 weeks?

Our son works in Shenzhen, China. Last year his workplace was closed for about 2 weeks for Chinese New Year in mid-January, when many people travel to visit family. On what days will this be celebrated in 2014? We would like to make travel arrangements for him during that time for a visit.

2014 Chinese Spring Festival will be celebrated from Jan. 30 to Feb. 5, 2014. You said two weeks, because the whole festival will not end till the mid of the first lunar month, Feb. 14.
