Given name in an email

Hi,
I'd like to write an e-mail to a woman from Taiwan named Ying-Chen Peng, addressing her by her given name (we've already met and had a friendly chat). Can I write 'Dear Peng'?
Thanks!
Sarah

No, it is so strange. You can use "Dear Ms/Miss Peng".

Thank you! So Ying-Chen is the given name, and Peng the Family name? To be more friendly, could I write 'Dear Ying-Chen'?

Yes, it is ok with "Dear Ying-Chen". Or you can write down "Ni Hao Ying-Chen". She or he will be surprised.
