About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

How can I apply for the residence permit

Hi
I arrived in China on the 6th of September and started work, and registered at the police station a couple of days later. But the International officer has been away and so we still have not applied for my residence permit (they said they needed to get the foreign expert certificate first-and have been away, so I don't think they have done it-and they don't respond to e-mails or phone calls). As National holiday starts on Tuesday I think this means that because my residence permit has not yet been directly applied for-only the proprietary forms that that means that unless I get the application in on tomorrow or Monday I would need to leave the country then reapply for a new Z-am I correct, or can I legally stay here as the other forms are still being processed?

Hi, the residence permit application should be done within 30 days after entry, so if your work Z is going to expire, you should better visit the local PSB asap and try to apply for an extension. Better go along with a Chinese friend if necessary.
