About:China Embassy in Thailand

Do I still need a round trip ticket to get a visa in Thailand to China?

I have a round trip ticket from U.S. to Hong Kong , cause I can cross the board direct from Hong Kong.

The round-trip ticket from US to Hong Kong is enough for Chinese visa application. But if you will fly from US, why don't you apply for it in US? because I heard that it is difficult to apply in a third country unless you are a resident there.
