About:Beijing Transportation Smart Card

Can a 4 day smart travel card be bought for rail travel in Beijing and surrounding area

There is no 4-day card for the transportation. It is suggested to buy a three-day smart card and use cash on the fourth day for traveling.
Or you can buy an ordinary card and the return the card on your departure day.

Hi Samel. So there's three-day Smart card. How about a 5-day Smart card.. is there such a thing? What sort of smart cards are available and how much does each one cost?

Hi, Pat. There is no 5 day pass. And the three day pass costs CNY10 and can be used on all the buses in the city (expect those whose numbers begin with 9, such as 9, 91, and 901).

As it is very convenient to take subway and buy ticket for that in Beijing, personally no need to get a smart card for your five days' stay.

Hi Tina... Thanks for your reply. Can we use the 3-day pass for buses AND subway trains? May I know the pin ying and chinese characters for 3-day pass? Also, I read somewhere that there's a 7-day pass. I'm thinking if it would be better to buy that sort instead. Lastly, would you know if these cards are also available at Terminal 2 of Beijing Capital Airport? Thanks

I'm afraid not. The three-day pass can only be used on buses in the city. The 7-day pass can alos only used on buses.
If you are going to use train or subway most, you can have a regular Smart Card or directly buy subway ticket on the spot. That will be more convenient! Anyway, for the regular Smart Card, I remember you can get that at the Ticketing Office/Window of Express Train in the airport.
