About:China Tourist Visa

Ex student wants to visit PRC again.

Hi, I am recent graduate student and resident of kuwait currently. I am of Bangladeshi nationality, I am planning to take a 2 weeks tour to get to see some places and visit some old friends. Is there any restrictions on my travel? What documents do I have to submit to get my visa? Or if visa will be denied to me at all?
I would go on a tourist visa, don't want to bother those friends for them processing the sponsorship document. But incase I choose to get sponsored from friends there, what procedures do they have to undertake first there and then send me ?

If you plan to apply for a L type, you have to provide your passport, a filled application form (2013 edition), a recent passport size photo and the invitation letter (sent from your friends or any authorized Chinese organization). If you can not provide the invitation letter, you have to provide round-trip air tickets and hotel booking. Sometimes, some nationals are required to provide the travel issurance (100 USD per day). Since you apply in Kuwait, you have to provide original and copies of your residence permit there.

Thanks for the quick reply. So if my friends just send me an invitation letter it is enough or does the letter have to be notarized in public office and then sent here ? Because a few years ago I sent an invitation letter as such for my family to visit me there but the embassy rejected it saying it is not enough.
So at the moment confused about it..

The invitation letter is ok, but it must contain following details:

(1) Information on the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)

(2) Information on the planned visit (arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, etc.)

(3) Information on the inviting entity or individual (name, contact telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviting individual)
