About:China Visa Application Requirements

How strict is the "at least one pair of blank facing visa pages" part of the requirements?

I just realized I am down to one empty page in my passport and I will go to Hong Kong next week to get a Z visa. Will they give me any problems about being on the last page of my passport? I don't really have time between now and then to add new pages.
