What are the visa formalities?

My flight reach Guangzhou at 17:40. Can I catch train to Hong Kong same day

If you want to visit HK from Guangzhou by train, you should apply for a Chinese visa. I am not clear what passport you hold, so I am not sure if HK visa is required.
