I am a visiting scholar here, and it is may be more convenient for us to drive a car in VA, so we want to buy a used or a new car to drive, but can we bring our cars back to China with us when we go back?, if we can, do the custom of China will charge fees for the car? How much will we pay for a car then? Hope to get your reply soon through my E-mail. Thank you very much!

I'm afraid the private-use car cannot be taken into China unless you are going to live in China for long.

I' m from China, so "go back ' means go back to China. So my question may be: If we buy a new or used cars in USA for our personal use, and we may go back to China afer a year when the program is end, can we bring the cars with us then? If we can how much (or what is the percent)every car may be charged by the Chinese customs?

Oh, I see. Then you can take the car in and the customs will regard it as import. The tax fee is very high and I heard the tax rate is 120%. Just for your reference! For the details, you'd better consult China customs.
