About:Shanghai Taxi

Hi, Taxi from Shanghai Pudong airport to Xuhui international hotel (No.255 Dong An Road) costed me 650 RMB. I feel, that it was froud. Is it real price?

I took taxi directly from airport transfer office.

I think you are cheated by the taxi driver.
The taxi fare to your hotel is around 170 to 180RMB. At night, the fee is a little bit higher, but cannot be that expensive.

I suggest you to ask for other travelers for some advise on this website before your start your journey, so that you can know the correct information and bargin with the taxi driver.

It was like "airport transfer service", they have their office directly at the airport. I had to pay at the office and got the receipt. My flight was delayed, so I didn't have a time for finding another taxi. I think that there should be an information where to catch a taxi at the airport. Because I was "catched" by the person from that office just after getting out with my luggage. He said me, that it is taxi, also he told, that trip by subway would be more than 2 h. Another thing: when I saw the car (after the payment in the office), it was not marked as taxi, it was just like "a car rent with driver". I feel really dissapointed with this swindle. My first visit of China and so unpleasant experience.
