Documentation needed to accompany L Visa Application

We are planning to visit our son for 2 weeks-he is currently working in china for 5 months. We will be staying with him in his apartment. What accompanying documentation will we need with our L application apart from a booking confirmation for our flight to and from Hong Kong?

You need an invitation letter from your son, and cipies of his passport and residence permit. You should apply for a new S type by the way.
