About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

MY departure flight goes from beijing to shanghai to vancouver will this be a problem?

I am flying from the phillipines to Beijing then want to fly out of Beijing to Vancouver but my departure flight does a 2 hr stop over in Shanghai before Vancouver. Can i still get the permit if i don't leave the airport in SH? Or do i need a flight that does no lay overs in china?

If the time you stay in both SH and Beijing is no more than 24 hours, the visa is not needed.

Well Ide be arriving on Dec 15th and leaving on the 17th, so I would like the 72 hr visa i just wanted to know if me departure flight would be problem with it stopping in SH before Vancouver. I read that i would not be aloud to leave Beijing so i wanted to check if that would be a problem?

As for your case, you are not qualified for the 72h free-visa. Meanwhile, you don't need any transit permit or visa at either Beijing or SH. Don't worry!

I was under the understanding that i would need a visa to go to China period? If i don't qualify for the 72 hour visa I'm assuming my only option now because i do want to spend at least 2 days in Beijing that i need a regular tourist visa? I just want to be sure before i book my departure flight, i was going to book a direct flight but i would prefer the stop over in Shanghai but i figured it would possibly cause a problem with getting the visa.

If you wan to visit BJ and have a stop over in SH, the tourist visa is necessary.
If you want to enjoy the 72-hour free visa policy, you need to book a direct flight from BJ to Vancouver.
