About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Can i apply for spouse visa here in Shanghai without my spouse or does she need to be here?

Hi, I'm married to a Shanghainese, she is currently in Australia and I am in China.

So what visa you hold now in Shanghai? her personal apearance is not required. But to apply for it as a spouse of a Chinese citizen, invitation letter, and marriage certificate are required.
