change from l visa to s?

Question

Can my family (wife and children) change from an L to an S1 type without leaving the country? Can they do it in mainland or Hong Kong?I am getting a Z and for some reason they are not listed on the paperwork.  They already have L.

Hi, you shall better visit your local PSB for the latest information. The new regulation will be carried out from Sept.1, 2013, so there is no such information available online. Personally I think it is ok for them to change L to S1 type within mainland with marriage certificate and birth certificate.
