About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Will I need a visa to go to China?

i would like to visit Beijing for 10-15 days. I hold an Australian passport and a green card from the US.

Yes, sure you need to apply for it in advance in USA. Just submit your application to the embassy or consulate according to your residency.
