Can I make the reservation for whole-trip train tickets at same time or same station?

if I'm in Xian, can I book or buy the train tickets from Pingyao to Datong &/or from Datong to Beijing in the same time of Xian-to-Pingyao ticket reservation? Or I should be in Pingyao or Datong First?
