Hiring Taxi in Datong for traveling.

I am going to arrive early morning (6:05) to DT by train. I would like to visit the Hanging Monastery and the Yungang Caves in one day. Where can I hire a taxi for a day in the morning (close to the train station)?

Yes, you are right. You need to hire a taxi just outside the railway station.

What I meant is that if there is a certain place at the station I can hire a "reliable" taxi driver, or they are just "hanging" around and approaching everybody, offering rides within the city (but not long distance to Hanging Monastery).

I heard from one of my friends that the taxi drivers at the railway stations are just hanging around and approaching everybody. It is very easy for you to get cheated by them.

If you do not want to be cheated, you can walk along the road directly in the front of the railway station to a cross road, where you can hire safe taxi.
