Mid-Autumn Festival in China

We are planning to travel China on 10th.Sept until 16th.Sept.2013.
It is very difficult to buy train ,coach and air ticket on the above date?
By the way, when is the Mid-Autumn festival holiday begin in China this year.
Do we need to buy the train ticket in advance and how?
Please advise
