About:Kunming Airport

I will be traveling from Kathmandu to Tokyo via Kunming and Shanghai, I have a long whole day haul.

I saw some answers above that we will have to pay for the lounge??? Is that just for VIP lounge or do we have to pay for any lounge?

Hi, you need to pay for the hourly lounges. For the VIP lounges, it is for free.

What is hourly lounges? I still didn't get it.

Anyway, I have a whole day long haul in the airport. I just wanted to know what is hourly lounge. Could you please simply tell me if I have to pay for the sofa where we normally wait in the transit? Thanks, Sanjay

The hourly lounges have rooms, where you can have a short sleep and take a shower, so you need to pay for that. But the resting chairs/sofa for transit passengers are for free.
